Great job guys.
Don't fools like these types of cops know how to read an address or double check their coordinates before scaring people, losing their already decaying public trust and completely destroying an expensive, time consuming investigation?
There's good cops and bad cops. Too bad the ratio's been changing in the wrong direction.

They are liable for violating her rights. The warrant gave them authority to search the house 2 doors down, NOT her house. They broke the law, is she gets a good lawyer she can make them pay dearly. Not taking advantage of the legal system its holding incompitant assholes liable for their actions.

The "war on drugs" is really a war on the fourth amendment.
And most of the people in the country are okay with that, so it will continue.

What's always funny about theses stories is that the victims of these thugs with badges can't understand why they never "apologize."
As if the police are our friends and should apologize if they do something to offend -- the police are not our "friend" and see ALL of us non-police as being "the enemy."
Richmond County Sheriff's Investigators Raid Wrong House, Hold Family At Gunpoint
[link to www2.wjbf.com]
Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff?s Office say they accidently served a search warrant on the wrong house, while looking for a suspected drug dealer in Burke County.
SNIP
Susan Treat says she was standing, in her laundry room, just feet from her backdoor, when Richmond and Burke County Sheriff?s officers, burst through that door, looking for a suspected drug dealer.
Treat says she thought her family?s lives were in danger, she thought the officers were there to help, but she knew that wasn?t the case, when she says at, gun point, the police ordered her, her pregnant daughter, and her 3 year old granddaughter, to get on the floor.
?Two officers were standing over the top of me with guns.? says Treat.
She says the officers searched her house for almost an hour, she says cussing, and calling her a liar, before realizing they had the wrong address. The house they were looking for was two doors down.
?I?ve never done anything wrong. I?ve had one speeding ticket in my life.?
She says now days after the raid, she is having trouble sleeping, and her granddaughter is having nightmares. Even worse she says, no one has even apologized.
SNIP
Lieutenant Partain says, ?That is true, that is true, that is true.?
bad news for the insurance carrier the county uses...

Authorities of course are afraid of liability, so they won't even offer an apology since that can be construed as an admission of guilt in a civil suit.

Fuck the pigs.Someday soon they'll get their due by raiding the wrong man's house.
More like someday they will take out the entire household when someone dares to defend against them.

He sued both the realtor AND the PD. His daughter's back east in medical school now, completely paid for, and he bought a bigger house with a view and more rental property.
