Chronic Candida is a common condition. Candida overgrowth is often misunderstood as many of the signs and symptoms of Candida overgrowth are difficult to diagnose. You might have chronic Candida if:
1. You suffer frequent yeast infections. This includes vaginal yeast infections, skin yeast infections and/or thrush.
2. You are constantly tired and fatigued. Candida overgrowth really taxes both your immune system and your body. Instead of being able to function normally, your body is battling an overgrowth of yeast and the result is a compromised immune system and exhaustion.
3. Skin problems including acne. Acne is often caused by Candida. Many people assume that sugar, chocolate and other foods cause acne. The truth is that sugar, chocolate and other foods cause Candida. Candida causes acne. The food is related but it's not the actual cause.
4. Chronic stomach problems. Candida causes bloating, constipation and diarrhea. You may think you have irritable bowel syndrome or even food allergies when the truth is you have chronic Candida. Candida feeds on the waste material in your gut. As it feeds it grows and multiplies. The problem snowballs and the end result is chronic stomach distress.
5. Chronic illness. Candida stresses your body and your immune system. It forces your immune system to focus all its energy on battling Candida overgrowth. SO what happens? You're exposed to a virus and your body doesn't have enough energy to fight it. You get sick.
6. Weight gain. Chronic Candida causes weight gain. In addition to the basic weight gain you get from bloating and constipation your body also becomes inflamed. Additionally, because yeast thrives on sugar people with chronic Candida often eat a lot of sugar. It then causes cravings that are difficult to deny.
7. Antibiotics. If you take antibiotics often or have been on antibiotics for an extended period of time you may have this condition. Antibiotics are a huge cause of Candida overgrowth. They kill the good bacteria which strive to keep Candida albicans under control.
8. High sugar diet. If you eat a lot of sugar or have a diet high in starchy carbs and white flour then you probably have yeast overgrowth. This is exactly what Candida feeds on. You eat it, Candida grows. Candida then demands more sugar which results in cravings. You can stop the cycle by changing your diet.
9. Food allergies. It often masks itself as a food allergy. For example, dairy allergies and/or lactose intolerance may actually be chronic Candida.
10. Painful periods. Chronic Candida has an effect on all areas of your body. Your hormones are particularly affected.
If you have any of these signs and symptoms then you likely suffer from chronic Candida. It can lead to worse problems. Consider going on an anti-yeast diet. The diet works by essentially starving the Candida in your body. They die off and you are able to start fresh with a Candida free body.
