The International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR) is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to reducing poverty and conserving the environment through pro-poor trade in bamboo and rattan. With headquarters in Beijing, China and Regional Offices in India, Ethiopia, Ghana and Ecuador, INBAR works with over 38 member countries worldwide and has links with partners in over 50 international, regional, and national organizations.?

INBAR seeks a dynamic and creative Development and Communication Officer to join its Development and Communications Unit (DCU).

?

Job Summary

?

As a member of the DCU team the Development and Communications Officer will play a key role in the implementation of INBAR?s fundraising and communication strategies, with specific targets for increasing overall revenues and effectively promoting the organization and its global programmes. The Development and Communications officer will also work in close cooperation with the INBAR Executive management, Programmes, Regional Offices and Finance Team.

???? Actively contributes to the continuous updating and implementation of? INBAR?s fundraising strategy focusing on securing funding from a broad scope of? donors, including bilateral and multilateral agencies,? private and corporate foundations, and individuals, to ensure that financing and mission are moving forward together:

???? Actively contributes to the continuous updating and implementation of ?INBAR?s communications strategy aimed at raising the organization?s profile at global, regional and national levels:

Qualifications

?

???? Educational profile in international relations, marketing, and/or communications, preferably at Masters but at least at Bachelor level

???? Native English speaker, while knowledge of INBAR?s other official languages, French, Spanish and/or Chinese, will be a valuable additional asset

???? Hands on experience with organizing and running media campaigns and conferences

???? Excellent English writing and editing skills for communication and marketing tools (e.g. project proposals, web-pages, press releases and social media)

???? Team worker and able to deal with tight deadlines

???? Inspired by the opportunity to work in and to contribute to an international, non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable development
